Our fabulous stage crew is essential to ensure that every show runs smoothly. You'll be following the directions of your stage manager to set out props and set pieces, collect costumes at the end of an act, and sometimes interact with the performers during an act.Stage crew may also be calld upon to help set-up the performance space prior to the show or act as gophers during the show to notify performers that they're up next or to grab a forgotten item from the dressing room.
Unlike regular theatre, stage crew are definitely visible during the show, so dress as glamourously, flamboyantly, or as dramatically as you like. The Speakeasy has a 1920's vibe, so wearing your flapper or gangster best would be appropriate!
As stage crew, you'll be moving, bending, walking (or running!), picking up and carrying. etc. so please consider your mobility needs before volunteering. Also please note that soms stage crew positions are required to be at rehearsal as well, so please check your schedule before volunteering.
Our illuminating follow-spot operators are responsible for keeping the performers lit when they should be (and in shadow when that's called for). Experience is helpful but not necessary. A smooth, steady hand and good eyesight are really all the tools you need.

We're halfway to every burlesquers favorite holiday, so we thought we'd bring a little autumn magic to spring in Salem! Halfway To Halloween celebrates the elements that make classic and contemporary Halloween – spooks, movie monsters, Trick or Treating, slutty pumpkins, and more!
We may not scare your pants off, but we guarantee someone is going to lose their clothes!
Our ushers check ticklets, answer questions (usually "where are the bathrooms/is the bar?"), and are a generally visible and helpful presence.

Join the all-star crew that will perform in the opening number of The Main Event. Choreographer Eva Jansen has created a burlesque spectacle worthy of kicking off our grand evening of performances!
Rehearsals will be Sunday evenings (7:00pm or 7:30pm) starting March 19 at The Asylum Co-Lab at Faneuil Hall in Boston. You must be able to attend most of these rehearsals if you want to be in the performance.
Rehearsals are
with a last rehearsal on Saturday, May 6 (time TBD) and a performance at the start of The Main Event later on that evening. Costuming is the responsibility of the dancers, but it shouldn’t be anything too weird, complicated, or expensive.
Please Note: if you have been cast in either portion of the Main Event, you cannot be in the opening number. We really appreciate you, but go volunteer somewhere else ;-)
